Ask For What You Need
Don’t be embarrassed. Don’t worry about “being a bother”. When you need something, ask for it.
People can always say “no” or direct you to someone else, but don’t go putting “no” in other people’s mouths by assuming that will be their answer — so you never ask the question.
If you never ask, you’ll never know.
The world doesn’t always think to check in with everyone individually to see if they have everything they need, but many times you can make a request and see it fulfilled just because you asked.
One of the very first radio station sales consultants I ever met had a really brilliant sales mantra that I’ve never forgotten:
Ask and you get.
Don’t and you won’t.
Pretty simple, right?
Ask. Don’t demand.
You can’t force someone to give you something they have just because you want it (that’s robbery).
Asking isn’t difficult.
It isn’t rude.
It isn’t selfish.
Asking can be the difference between you having all the resources you need to create something brilliant and new and revolutionary…
Or not.
