Get More Ideas

If you’ve been following me on Twitter, Facebook, or Pinterest you may have noticed the roll out of a brand new visually-oriented project titled Get More Ideas.

Get More Ideas is an original daily cartoon and quote written and drawn by yours truly. I’ve been wanting to do something like this for quite some time, stemming from my past as a wannabe cartoonist and inspired by some of my favorite web artists and philosophers.

The final piece of motivation that put this project into action is the growing popularity of the visual bookmark and photo sharing site, Pinterest.com. I thought a daily image posted to a blog and shared through Pinterest would be a fun way to experiment with the possibilities of this new (and all-time fastest growing) social media site.

I draw the daily cartoon on a blank 4×6 index card using Sharpie markers and highlighters. For the first couple weeks I took a photo of the drawing using the camera in my phone, but starting this week I’ve begun scanning the drawings using a new portable “magic wand” scanner which will provide for a much more colorful and sharper image being posted to the dedicated site — a Tumblr blog.
