Kissing Frogs
Because of the fairy tale in which a princess smooches a frog and it magically transforms into her true love (which incidentally is also how the Coronavirus really came into being), the phrase “you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince” has come to mean that finding true love can be a bit like finding a needle in a haystack full of frogs who want to make out with you.
I think this metaphor of kissing frogs can also be used to accurately represent the process for finding a truly great idea
Where ideas are concerned, if you have any hope of coming up with one great idea — you need to come up with a whole of bad-to-mediocre ideas.
Those are your Frogs
But you can’t just put all your “frogs” in an aquarium and hold on to them indefinitely — you can’t hoard your ideas. You have to take them out and test them to see if they’ll work and ask people if they’d be interested in paying you to put your ideas into action on their behalf.
You gotta kiss your Frogs
Some people are afraid to kiss their frogs (test their ideas) because they fear the unknown (and warts), but embracing your ideas is the only way to find out which ideas you love and which ideas will love you back.
