One Step Closer
There is a huge sense of relief and accomplishment when you finish a project or attain a long-term goal, but don’t forget to celebrate the act of simply achieving the next step in the process. Each one of those deeds brings you closer to realizing the big goal as your end result — and you couldn’t get there at all if you weren’t able to take just one step closer ever single day.
I’m not even talking about project milestones
Milestones are absolutely important events you should be tracking within each of your projects. It’s like checking a road map when you pass major interchanges on the highway in order to confirm you’re still on the right road and headed in the right direction.
A next step that brings you closer to your final gold could be a literal next “step” where you tracked down an important resource or secured an important meeting. You don’t even know if the meeting is going to go your way — but you know that the meeting was required in order to make progress (one way or the other).
Celebrate those next small steps that keep moving you closer to your big goals.
