Permission To Think
You don’t need to ask anyone for permission to think more creatively. You don’t need clearance from some committee to come up with a better solution to a problem.
You also can’t wait for someone to come up to you on the street and invite you to contribute your ideas.
-
- If you have a better idea, speak up.
- If you have a more creative approach, suggest it.
- If you have a new twist on an old process, show it.
Your boss hired you for the potential value you could contribute to the company. Your client hired you for your unique perspective on their project.
You don’t need permission to think, you need to fulfill your obligation to do so!
Your boss and clients and coworkers are all waiting for you to demonstrate some initiative and show them “what you got” in the way of contributing to the collective brilliance of the group.
Take action.
Demonstrate some personal drive.
Exhibit some enthusiasm.
