The End.
This is the end of my blog posts.
It’s been a good run. It has been rewarding for me and I hope you’ve found some information of value buried amongst the poor self-editing and (probably) way too many words used to attempt an explanation of my ideas.
I made a commitment to myself at the beginning of the year to write a new blog post every single day of the year, and with this latest post on December 31st — I’ve completed my promise and accomplished my goal, so I’m done.
One reason I create these little challenges for myself to maintain a habit of producing content. Whether it’s the most recent project of writing a full year of daily articles, or last year’s challenge to record and publish a podcast every single day, or the experiment to create a small piece of art and philosophy that began as 365 day commitment but is still going strong more than 2,190 days later — it’s a devotion to being a content creator, a thinker, a writer, and an action hero.
The other reason I do it is to be an example to all those people out there who say “You know, I should start a blog” (or a podcast, or record videos, or draw stuff) and then never do it — but instead of owning the fact they made a decision to prioritize watching movies on Netflix over writing a movie script that could be produced for Netflix, they make excuses about not having enough time to sit down and write (or record or paint) daily.
Hey, I’m busy too.
We all have the same 24-hours in a day.
But at the end of this year (today!) I have 365 new articles that I’ve put out into the world that will help people get to know me, my philosophies on business and creativity, and act as an entry way to doing business with together.
What will you have?
I’ll bet you won’t even have cleared your Netflix queue (there’s always another show to watch)!
Today is the end.
…Until next year.
It’s the end of my daily blog posts, but I’ll still be writing on a regular basis (probably weekly). When you’ve done a solid 365 days or writing blog posts, ratcheting down to one per week makes it a no-brainer.
I haven’t completely settled on what my challenge for next year will be, but I’m leaning toward a focus on producing my email newsletter on a more regular basis (probably weekly). I also know I’ll keep going for another year of daily content on Big Yellow Sticky (sign up for the email list over there to make sure you don’t miss anything!)
I’m also hoping this is The End for YOU
The end of your excuses.
I know you can commit to producing content on a regularly scheduled basis simply because I can do it (and that means ANYONE can)!
The end of the year is a perfect time to put an end to excuses.
Send me a message on LinkedIn or Twitter or post a note on my Facebook page and let me know what kind of content (and how often!) you’re going to commit to producing in the new year and I’ll do my best to provide idea and help keep you motivated and accountable all year long.
The End.
