This Is An Idea
This is an Idea.
It is a single pithy phrase that ricochets around the inside of your head for weeks.
It is a single slide in the midst of a hundred deck PowerPoint presentation that compelled you to quickly pull out your phone and snap a photo of it before the speaker could advance to the next image.
It is a book you finished reading which is now filled with sticky notes jutting out from among dog-eared pages.
This is an Idea.
It is a word overheard in a crowd.
It is a line uttered while laughing over beers with friends.
It is a note hastily scribbled on a napkin while meeting with a client for coffee.
This is an Idea.
It is a concept. A notion. An angle. An assumption.
It is a thought. An impression. A clue.
It is a flash of intuition.
This is an Idea.
It is one more try to solve that pesky problem.
It is one of among many pages devoutly written in a personal journal.
It is the curiosity for what comes next and the inner faith that assures you that we can always do better.
This is an Idea.
It is not fully formed.
It cannot be precisely explained.
If it were that illustration titled “March of Progress” which shows the evolution of man from neanderthal to modern man it would be the third from the left (or maybe the third from the right).
This is an Idea.
It is easy to kill.
It is weak and cannot survive without love and protection.
It has potential, but if only it can find a champion to help see it be fulfilled.
This is an Idea.
It gets bigger and better the more you debate it and talk about it with others.
BUT… its value can only be realized once you stop talking about it and put it into action.
This is an idea.
And it changes everything.
