Tired of all the monkey business?
As humans, I believe we have a high tolerance level for monkey business. We put up with a lot of nonsense (just look at the recent election if you need proof!) and still manage to make steady progress forward, albeit sometimes at a much slower pace.
Too much monkey business in the office means you have people in meetings beating their chest for attention, other attendees will be nit-picking every little thing about policies and procedures, and you have managers who just swing by to fling a bunch or crap around the room and then simply leave.
When there is monkey business happening, there isn’t much listening going on.
Mostly it’s just a bunch of people screaming at each other in ever-increasing levels of volume like a bunch of Howler monkeys. Nobody wants to work anything out — they just want to make sure their voice is heard above everyone else’s (and that they get the last word).
If you want to reduce the amount of monkey business you have to deal with on a daily basis, you have to stop working with people who are bananas.
…unless you find that sort of thing a-peeling.
