Who Sits Around Your Round Table?
In Arthurian legend, Britain legendary king had all of his knights meet at a round table so that none could claim superiority over another by sitting at the head of the table (not even King Arthur). It was a signal that meant all were on equal ground in the discussions that took place at the table.
The Spirit of The Round Table
I think this same principle is used to its best effect in any gathering where ideas are going to be discussed and debated. You can’t have an open exchange of ideas if people are worried about offending a higher-up on the org chart because their idea wasn’t a favorite, or if you have to worry about someone pulling rank to get their idea chosen for implementation by intimidating other people in the room (intentionally or not).
One of my favorite evolutions of The Round Table has become group discussions on Podcasts and Live video (YouTube Live, Facebook Live, Instagram Stories, etc.)
Take A Seat At The Next Round Table
This Thursday (September 10, 2020) at 7:30pm Easter / 6:30pm Central I’ve been invited to participate in a live video discussion with Don Terrell and Ozeal Debastos on their show Talkin’ Creative.
It’s free to tune in from your internet-connected device (your data plan costs notwithstanding), and while you can always watch the recorded replay, if you tune in live and convince Don and Ozeal to take questions I’ll be happy to brainstorm live and in real-time for some extra fun and excitement — you never know what a live audience might need help with in creating new ideas or advice for putting them into action!
Click the link above (or the image below) to visit the Talkin’ Creative event listing on Facebook where you can check the “Going” box to let us know you’ll be attending and to receive a reminder when the broadcast goes LIVE.
See you there!
