You Can’t Be All Positive All Of the Time
Some writers and speakers (and assorted “gurus”) say that you have to have a 100% positive attitude 100% of the time, and I can tell you that an assertion like that is 100% baloney.
No one can be 100% positive (or 100% anything) 100% of the time.
I think the goal (at least mine) is to exhibit a consistently positive attitude and outlook as often as possible, but that also means recognizing when you’re not feeling or acting in a positive manner and still taking confident steps forward in order to move past any temporary negative moods and get back into the positive zone as soon as possible.
One thing that is important to note is that a big part of having a positive attitude is maintaining it even when things aren’t going your way.
It would be a simple thing to have a positive attitude if only good things ever happened to you.
If you lived all of your life with things ever only going your way, you’d be left completely unprepared for when something goes completely off the rails — and it always does.
And I’m 100% positive of that.
